I use the free tools and Wordtracker. WT is useful for the KEI data. I would also recommend signing up for the NicheBot trial. I didn't particularly like the interface but it's very comprehensive. In one of the Nichebot videos the presenter calls WT the 'Coca Cola' of keywords tools ie the leading brand, but also claims that WT represents less than 1% of true search data.
You can check out my free keyword tool (in signature). It pulls data from wordtracker, but then also allows you to analyze the competition in google, yahoo, and msn, and then also export the results to a csv file. There are also in depth videos that cover topics like how to find the good "money" keywords, and how to do research on a larger scale. Matt
Glad you liked my tool AveryQuest Just a heads up, I also created a series of 10 videos that discuss keyword research in detail including info on digging through niches, finding the best "money" keywords, scaling your research, etc. http://mattsfreekeyword.com Matt
