Hmm, I am using RankChecker a firefox addons and I usually do it manually...

 

Rank checker tool is good one for keyword checking tool. I mostly use it.

 

I use SEOBook Ranking Checker tool for finding keyword positions. Its a great tool to identify keyword positions.

 

You can also check your website for keywords using this position checker tool

 

For keyword research, I only rely on Google Keyword Tool and Wordtracker. In checking site ranking, I do it manually. Most ranking tools don't give out real-time ranking details.

There is rankchecker from SeoBook.com, then there is googlerankings.com(requires you to have an API key). But, rankchecker gave the most accurate results(+/- 2 positions on real time search) out of all the free tools that were available. Also, it shows simultaneous rankings on all the 3(Google, Yahoo, MSN) search engines and the also the URL that the site/page is ranked on.

Have You tried Google trends This is one of the best keyword tool.

The Rank Checker plug-in is actually one of the more accurate tools that I've used, it's the only reason I downloaded Firefox in the first place. Well, aside from checking cross browser compatability.
