    Hi

Using the googleadwords tool, if I enter a keyword and it says competition is medium, but global and local monthly searches are 52, what does that mean?

To me it says quite a lot (medium) amount of people are willing to bid on a keyword which basically is searched for very little per month??

    Am I completely off track.

I have always been very successful with SEO but never used this tool.

    Thank in advance

If the keyword is a major buying keyword, these people will bid highly for it, even if only a few people search it per month. So for example if the keyword is "where can I buy _____" you know they have high probability of buying so you would bid high for that term, even though maybe only 10 people search for that a month.

If the keyword is very important to you, then yes, even though the search volume is low, you should still buy it.

General rule of thumb, you want to have more long tail keywords in your adwords, that can gradually reduce your CPC over time.

Keyword Tools are a group of tools that provide analysis and reporting on the use of keywords or phrases on your or your competitors website. They are a vital set of tools in terms of optimizing your website for high search engine ranking and also for analyzing your competitor's website.

The search volume of a given keyword matters very little to anyone looking to buy ad space with adwords, and in fact, in some cases a lower search volume term is probably preferable over a higher volume one. For example, "hire mesothelioma lawyer in Dallas" would be worth more than "mesothelioma lawyer" to a lawyer in Dallas, even if it gets 1/100 of the search volume.

Why the fuck am I even giving advice on this forum?
