Aside from Google and Yahoos keyword suggestion tools, what else do you guys use to generate large keyword lists? I seem to have a problem manually coming up with more than 500 keywords.

i think the best is to take the first bunch of keywords and search those. A good tool is the one here at DP that uses wordtracker (free version) and overture.

I have a list of some good ones here: http://www.1stsearchenginerankings.com/2007/01/14/list-of-useful-seo-tools/

I use Keyword Elite, WordTracker, Overture and Keyword Discovery. The article has a list of others and tips for each.

I disagree! This is not at all something to do when "you're bored", but rather an important means of figuring out how people are arriving at your site, and which keywords to focus on

It's hard to beat log files. If you use cpanel or have a decient analytic program, it's not even very painful...
