I entered the phrase 'cash gifting' into Digitalpoint's Keyword Suggestion Tool to be informed 3 day. I entered the phrase 'cash gifting' into Adword's Keyword Tool to be informed 40,500 month. Can any body tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I don't believe you did anything wrong, all the traffic #'s are guesstimates from 3rd party keyword suggestions based on their algorithm and should only be compared to other keyword traffic #'s given from that particular program. I would trust the # from Google as they actually have control over the search figures for the keyword. Dean Edwards
Yes, I also prefer Google's keyword Research tool as it is meant to be accurate ( as google is the main competitor in the Search Engine World) and this tool generates several keyword options down the list and also states keywords RELATED to the keyword you enter.
Free suggestion tools always give different results.. Try wordtracker or seo elite for better results.
I have found that Google's estimates still are often below the impressions I eventually receive (of my Ads from Google search). Estimates are only that; useful in helping you decide how to divide your effort (for SEO) or your budget (for PPC).
The thing about all these tools is they update at different times, use different algorithms and pull data from each other. I prefer to go right to the source, Google. Then I will compare what google has to some of the other tools.
