Hey. Today I came across, yet again, another guy who's profiting from Google's lax algorithms - the site is: http://www.pepegarden.co.uk/ Code (markup): They've ranked in the top 10 for the few weeks for 'garden furniture', despite with a spam-filled meta keywords and description tags. This pisses me off, and it's about time something's done about this. I think this is what's called a personal vendetta
I don't think you can say his meta keywords are spammed, they are what they should be - a list of keywords relating to what he sells. I do agree his meta description is horribly spammed though. I don't even think its this spamming that is causing him to rank though. The days of getting high rankings through simply spamming keywords in your meta description are long gone. I dont see him near the top 10 now anyway so maybe he's gone for good. His link profile is surprisingly clean though, usually someone with crap like that in the meta's will have hundreds of spammy, off-topic links but his all appear to be from related sites. Usually with competitors I like to do some backlink analasys and copy all of their best paid links, might be worth doing that if you haven't already.
I've just brought the point (along with many others) up at Google Groups - hopefully a member of the Google team will drop in and give a stone wall answer
