Keyword stuffing in tags... a Bad thing for SEO?

How many tags should we usually have for each post we make? I usually have around 20-25 tags for every post I write. What I did was take all the keywords from the post and make them as keywords and then put my site name and tag as keywords. SO that gave me a bunch.

This weekend I remember vaguely reading somewhere that keyword stuffing is a bad thing for SEO. Is that true? If yes, how can that be true, considering the fact that our post can be listed for more searches now than it would have with very few tags. Right?

Tags aren't really keyword stuffing......cause a tag is what you tell Search Engines what your post is about. 20-25 deos seem like too many though.....I would say 7-15 is a better number....and as long as the tags are represented by your post then don't worry! And you do not need to put in your site name.

Just stick with a sensible amount that is related to the topic, I would say 5 -10 is about right.

you should use tags so that readers can easily navigate through the site.
They click tags to know different post under them. on clicking different tags they should not find the same post again and again, same post can be seen twice or thrice but not more, except in special cases.

There is an optimum amount for stuffing the keywords. I guess it is 15 - 20 Percent. Do not exceed that.
And more over Tags are not considered into content of the page. Keywords in tags are not counted in keyword stuffing.

I always saw that keywords should only be about 5-10 per cent of your content. (Keyword "stuffing" is exceeding that and is always a bad idea.)

I don't know if so many tags will hurt your search engine ranking though, so long as the tags are relevant.

I think we should use 5 to 7% keywords in a page.

Keyword Stuffing is not a good idea. Better focus on using keywords at least 10 to 15.
That will be just fine. :)
