You should choose relevant keywords that have low competition in SERP (Usually low/medium in Adwords keywords tool) and good traffic in Keywords tool. Everything depends on ROI of your blog. Keywords with lowest competition will need much less SEO effort/cost to rank in 1st page but you may find that they are not bringing much traffic ( & revenue). Where as if you spend good effort, money & time to rank for a competitive keyword you can expect huge traffic & revenue. Since you are dealing with blog, it's recommended to use long tail keywords and keywords with much less SERP competition for individual blog posts. But no one stops you from posting you quality content targeted for competitive keywords. Content being the king can do wonders who knows.
