I've never believed that websites can be put into a "sandbox" but what is happening on my website makes me thing that such a thing does exist. I am optimising a new page (around 6weeks old) with KW's Florida villas, due to the link being placed in my signature on the forums I frequent I have already got 248+ links - the page was in the top 10 now #108. Could this be due to the sudden increase in links? Do I continue to get links to this page or should I slowdown and remove some of the links on my forum signatures? Looking at the competition there is no reason to suggest that I can't get #1 and I can only think its due to the links. What ya reckon?
No, it is not due to the links. It is due to the new way Google is doing page ranks. It no longer considers just link words and links but also the title of the pages from where the links are coming. If the title is a forum you lose credit, if the title is not related to your content you lose credit. Google is fighting SEOs and this is their way of optimizing their PageRank system. The same thing happned to one of my sites and what I did is I removed half the links and added reciprocal links with other related site owners and my PageRank went back up to PR6. Max
you mean if the title of the incoming link is a forum you lose? What if, like on mine, the title is lincoln vs cadillac forums ? Do you think that title hurts me?
