I'm thinking of entering a fairly saturated niche with a product I believe is superior to the competition. Unfortunately I can't find a great .com to register so I am considering .net and .co.uk (my product is targeted at uk only). Using domain registration as an example product (it's not what I'm really selling), which of the following domains would you choose? a) DomainRegistrationUK.net (available in my niche) b) RegistrationUK.co.uk (available in my niche) c) A made up .com name, which will be pretty hard in this niche (all keyword variations are taken) I don't have a huge budget for branding, and I don't plan to spend too much on adwords etc.
If you don't mind taking the extra time in SEO & Link building, I'd go with a short brandable .com There is something that I am not liking about KeywordUK If you could get Keyword.co.uk I would go for that. Psychologically in the long term I think you would be better off with the brandable.com . As an American I would not feel comfortable registering a domain at even DomainRegistrationUS.com even or even RegistrationUS.com A short brandable like GoDaddy is great!
Thanks for the reply and I agree that a brandable .com is the way to go in this case. Keyword.co.uk is taken of course, along with numerous other desirable names. The annoying things is that none of those taken domains are being used, they're just parked
