Say im creating a smaller kinda of niche site, targeting the keyword: Home Remedies to Quit Smoking What would you rather choose then as a domain name. home-remedies-quit-smoking.com homeremediesquitsmoking.com quitsmokingweb.com I mean i would rather have all keywords in domain as it helps when i submit articles and stuff. Only problem is that it looks long and spammy. I am not aiming to create a authority hub and all that just a quick niche site about quit smoking and affiliate some quit smoking products. Target some good keywords and build some links and let time have its way. What do you guys think?
For that particular example I'd try to get smokinghomeremedies.com -- it makes the URL shorter, and even a cursory glance at a keyword tool and Google search results show that adding "quit" to "smoking," at least in the domain, is redundant since most of the volume for the term "smoking" relates to quitting. In other words, if you're concerned about your long tail being too long for a domain, dig into the SERPs and a decent search tool to see which words you can do without. Frank
I would go for home-remedies-quit-smoking.com It's not necessary for users to remember your domain after the purchase (and thus to be short). You target the all 4 keywords in your main search phrase (not only 3, why loose a word?).
