Keyword rich articles in multile article directories

    I have a question. How does search engine treat backlinks from the same article submitted to a bunch of article directories. I know Google doesn't like duplicate content anywhere. And there is a service(and software) to submit your article to a whole bunch of article directories. So what do you guys know about it? Do you need to submit one article per one directory(so there is no duplicate content referring to your site) or you submit one article to all of them(so you have a bunch of quality backlinks?
