I used the google keyword tool, and i was wondering what a good number for Global Monthly Searches should be for choosing some keywords. Im looking for a lot of searches with low competition right?

Yes the best combo is a high monthly search (for your area) and low competition but you've usually got to strike a balance between the two.

How high you aim is down to many factors, primarily how good at SEO you are.

What is the keyword you are searching for? I think you have to balance the two: global monthly search volume and competition. It depends on the specific keywords you are searching for.

You need also to take other things like the season in to consideration.

I looked up an item i was going to sell on the Google tool, and I got 135k for global and 115k for local. The competition bar was full. When i added cheap in front of the item, i got 390k and 320k. When i added best, i got 1600 and 1300. What do you think of these results?
