Keyword research

It has been 4 to 6 months since I last did any new keyword research. I am in the top 10 in Google with 8 pages and in the 10 in yahoo on 7 pages out of a 59 page site. I have a page rank of 3 as far as I can tell and have an average of 200 to 250 visitors a day. A good number of my keywords have the word “web site” in them. I discovered that in most cases when I put my keyword with web site in it Google asks if I meant website. If I did not click yes when Google ask if I meant website my ranking was in the top 10 but if I clicked on “Did you mean website” when Google asked my listing changed.

When using the keyword research tool that I have been successful with in the past the best keywords with the word website in them were with web and site being separate words so that is the version of the word I used. I am considering going back and changing my keywords and file name were the word website is mentioned and making them all one word because I believe that when Google says “did you mean website” that most people will go ahead and click on it because they assume that is the correct spelling.

While doing this research using the keyword research tool that I have been successful with I noticed that now all of the keywords that were greater in demand than supply have changed to greater supply than demand. Does this mean that the old keywords are no good and I should replace those pages with new stuff? I am hoping the answer will be that I can keep them and still do well because this could cause me to have to redo a great deal of my site.

You could just make some new pages with the new keywords.
