Someone was nice enough to rep me in another thread for a casual comment on one of those "top keyword" posts. So I decided to expand on that and give you a top 50 keyword list, that has additional and what I consider, very important information. What can I tell you, I'm a statistics junkie. It's an Excel file for you to download. Keep in mind I did this two months ago and these keyword prices have changed. I believe my criteria was highest paying Average Cost per Click with less than 500 competitors. (I can't drive traffic to save my life, so I need words with no competition. ) Here is the basic information you'll get for 50 keywords, the example is taken from the top of the list: Keyword: portland refinance CPC: $17.88 Clicks/Month: 1,200 Sponsors: 39 AvgCPC: (This is an important number to know! It's more representative of what the real CPC will be. This is what Google charges, cut it in half for your share.) $10.60 Competitors: (Title, Description AND Keywords optimized for keyword phrase) 339 Overture Searches: 77 Google Searches: (If your site has been banned on Google, you're SOL for this keyword.) 118,950 Ratings: (Assigned by software) 5 R/S Ratio: (Definition: The 'R' is the number of websites found with that keyword as reported by a search engine search - the supply, and the 'S' is the number of searches on that keyword - the demand. The lower, the better.) 4.4 KEI Ratio: (Definition-How many searches for a keyword are done divided by the number of competing sites with the same word) 17,490 Some people don't believe R/S and KEI ratios have any importance, and to be honest with you, most of the time, I skip right past them, unless I'm developing a website. But how would you manually compile the average CPC? The only public CPC data I've seen is that provuded by Google Adwords Keyword Tool.
The only way I can think to do it is very unscientific. Go in as Adwords advertiser and see what highest/lowest bid is and average the two. That's why I use software. Someone else has figured this out (or paid Google for info) and I don't have to. Leaves me more time for writing, linking, submitting, etc.
So which software are you using to cheap AvgCPC? I would like to check keywords related to my topic of interest.
