Hi, my site rank well for some of my keywords. The keywords are two words and my site show up on the top 2 pages out of 1Million - 50Million search results. However, I don't get a lot of visits from search engine, only like 500 visits each month from google, 100 from yahoo and 40 from msn. I use adword tools to check the search volume, they are about 5000-30000 each month for each keyword that I optimize. I create tools for users, and I don't have a lot content like blogs because my writing is not so good. What's the best way to do key word research so that more visitors will come from google? Currently, 40-50% of my traffic comes from referal sites, 30% direct traffic and 20-30% from search engine.

You only learn such thing from experience. Ideally you want to start with low traffic keywords to understand what can you rank and slowly starts trying for more stronger keywords.

yah, maybe I should create more content to target more keyword, but I found writing very boring so didn't keep up.
