Hi , What is the very best way to research keywords for a particualr market. I have heard people swear by Word Tracker and then I have heard people say that you can not pay attention to the KEI etc. I have used Word Tracker , Niche Finder Software , Site Build It Brainstorming tool etc and I continue to get mixed reports. I am at the point I am extremely confused on what to use to research keywords that are competitive and non competitive. When do you say - Yes this is a great keyword to use and you should not have a problem getting in the top 10? When should you stay away from a keyword because you have no chance in the world to reach a top 10 listing. Any help will be so greatly appreciated. Thank you , Jason Morris
If u're still interested: Question #1 is whether the traffic from that word will make you any money. #2 is looking at search numbers with Overture, Google and Wordtracker. Determine the cost/conversion and offset it against the search numbers. 10 searches a month for 'piano' which earns you 20K each can be as lucrative as 20,000 searches for something you make 2 dollars on. #3 is checking the competition. Search in Google and click a few results. Get an impression of your competition's SEO skills. Check with McDar's tool. See how bad competition for allinanchor is. Check other SE's too. #4 is checking how much time and money you can throw at it. Is it worth it? Evaluate all this and make a decision. Don't spend too much time on it though. You'll win some, you'll loose some.
spend a little money to run adword campaign to figure it out. KEI tools are helpful, but not accurate. I wrote a Keyword Suggestion Tool for estimating google keyword popularity. The feedback is mixed like any other keyword tools.spend a little money to run adword campaign to figure it out. KEI tools are helpful, but not accurate. Your keyword suggestion tool didnt seem to be working for me. Anyone else having trouble with it (js error) ?
Very good suggestion indeed. You instantly get to see what works and what doesn't. Put up an ad for all words you can think of and run it a few days. Then look back which words are searched and match your product well. You might as well put up a quick page with e-mail registration saying the intended product/service you are researching is coming soon. Interested people might leave their e-mail and you have quality leads right away.
thanks dejaone. I tried putting in a keyword and hitting shift and nothing seemed to happen. Glad you cleared it up for me. But in all seriousness I did get a Javascript error the first time I used it (I dont run any adblockers) and no results returned. I tried it again today and got results but still got the js error also. I was just letting him know and was asking if anyone else had a prob using it.
It's not working for me either when I click go... says Error on Page Works when I press return, but gives results significantly lower than overture for example.
