Keyword research for Google

I use the Google Adwords tool to find out the number of searches on keywords and key phrases via Google. Problem is that I would like to find out the number of searches made just from the UK, rather than the WEB. Is there any way round this?

"Results are tailored to the languages and countries you choose below"

^^^ Well, I select UK and then secondly try the WEB (all countries and territories) and you get the same volume of searches... and so I guess there is no use even using this part of the Adwords Tool for location.

    Any ideas?

Hi, I know it doesn't make any difference, but I use the Adwords.co.uk tool over the com.:)

I have tried what you suggested and no matter what country/geographical location I use, you actually get the same volume of results, but thank you for pointing out the "exact match" which will come in useful.:)

I always thought if you tailored the results to let's say Italy and were using Google Italia that you would get the volume served for "results from Italy" rather than the web. Turns out that all the results are fed from all the web.

I intended on finding exact searches made at Google.co.uk for just "pages from the UK" as I rank easily here and from results taken from all the web, not soo much. I hate results taken from the web as well because Google always spits out answers from WIKI (similar themed topics that I cover) which kinda ruins any chance of traffic coming even if I did rank well.

Why not try to see the Google Zeitgeist, I think that would give you some ideas on the past searches for specified country or region.

Thanks, I took a look at this (never knew it existed) and it shows you split regions, but no such search volume in numbers. The keywords were generic ones as well, not long tails which is what I was looking for.:) Cheers.

The results of google adwords suggestion tool is only based on PPC traffic so if you want to check traffic from search engine organic you could try using wordtracker that can give traffic results from UK.

I use the Adwords Tool because it still gives an approximate number of searches made on Google for various keywords and key phrases. All of my search engine traffic comes from Google and that's why I have to study the volume trends here. I havn't tried Wordtracker as yet and so will give it a shot, thanks.:)
