keyword research:do i need to use "keyword" or [keyword]

    I have a question.

    When i do keyword research how do i need to input keyword:

    "keyword" or [keyword]?

    something else: i heard that the searches you get with adwords external keyword tool is not accurate at all.Which site or software is accurate for searches of specified keyword.

    I guess it depends on what tool you're using it for?
    Do you have a link or does it have a name?
    I know the tool in my sig right now, it's setup just like "keyword number one" and that's it

    lets say its for google adwords keyword tool?Say i want to know the average search for any keyword.do i need to look at [keyword] or "keyword"?
