    Hi,
I have a keyword question. In google keyword if some keyword have exact 200,000 search , then how much traffic i can expect if site is on 1st position.

Exact search are 200,000 , not broad

    Thanks.

It depends. In my experience over the past couple of years using that tool it's not very accurate. We have had some keywords that get near that amount then some just fractions of that.

Based on my own experiences of occupying the no 1 position in Google, you can expect between 30-40% of the total number of searches according to the Google keyword tool. Some people, like the poster above, have reported that the tool can be wildly inaccurate, but in my experience the tool has predicted traffic volumes fairly reliably.

I give an simple example with one of my website, ranked on first page, 1st position for a keyword that returned above 53 milion results, traffic on that period - somewhere near 400 uniques/day, now 5st position on first page getting in the area of 150-200.

Something is wrong here, don't you think? We're talking about the number of monthly searches here, not the number of results returned by that search.

yes we are talking number of monthly searches. not results for keyword search.

according to my experience, around 30% traffic. i open this thread bcz i feel i have different cases.

One person in some blog report. that one keyword have 3600 exact searches and he is getting daily 10 Unique visitors. and one keyword have 1900 exact searches and getting 30 unique daily.

I don't want, you confuse here. bcz that also depend search trend of year.. some products search most in winter, some search most in summer.

My main reason to open this thread is. I recently purchase a domain for good amount, that have 250,000 around exact searches from USA and 650,000 Globally.. and broad searches over 1.5 million.

Then i check no 1 site for that keyword on compete.com . and that number site have 8000 traffic. why and how? if google saying 250,000 searches then 30% traffic should be 75,000 and if global traffic also count then traffic must be at least 100,000

but why compete saying for that keyword number site getting total 8000+ each month only... other traffic resouces also in this 8000+. its very low.

    confuse, confuse, confuse

can you tell me any other site like compete.com that can tell others sites traffic

    Thanks.

Keyword tools are just ESTIMATES. That's VERY important to understand. They're not exact.
