I was accepted by a publisher as his affiliate - I must be a genius! The issue: I don't understand the keyword policies - so maybe I am not a genius... What does - Affiliates may not bid on tradenames (or misspellings). Affiliates may not bid on phrases which include tradenames (or misspellings) - mean? What is meant by "bid" here? Doesn't this line - Affiliates may use the tradenames in ads - contradicts the two lines above it? I would like to do two things: 1. Use adWords to advertise products. 2. Use my site to advertise products. When does using trademark names become a problem in the examples above? Many thanks, j
Hi all, I am rather surprised I didn't get any answer so far. Is my questions too difficult or so dumb you break out in laughter every time you try to write an answer to it? In any case - I was serious with this question as I am new to the field of affiliate marketing and would certainly want to avoid breaking the rules an advertiser is expecting. Thank you very much, J
Hi kaybanks, What other kind of ads are there? Banners? Isn't ppc (i.e. by Google) are the most common ads existing on the web? Wouldn't that be the default choice? Any anyway - why do advertisers prevent affiliates from using brand names? How can I compose an ad if I can't use the product name? Thanks, J
