The content management system I use has an optional plugin that automatically reads a document, determines the words with the highest density, and posts them into the document in the meta keywords tag. For example, for a given article on the song Amazing Grace the plugin will produce these keywords: If I was to only include the tags that I optimized the article for I would personally use these keywords in this weighting: In your opinion, which is the better way to do your meta keywords, pure keyword density or specific phrases? The plugin that I mentioned has received incredibly positive reviews, claiming greatly increased page hits. Part of me wonders if the people that use it were lousy at optimizing their keywords in the first place... Any comments?
I think it depends on the time you have available. Plugins are great if you can't be bothered to decide the keywords yourself I try make them match title/headers/content + my intent ... But if I were an active blogger (for blogging and not selling or seo) a plugin might be fine for me.
