I am wondering if any experienced users can help me with this. Lets say I create a sub-domain called http://southernoutdoors.domain.com then would the search engines pull in this domain when the key phrase "southern outdoors" is used? What I am trying to do is maximize on several different keywords and phrases. I am really new to the keyword stuff.
I can help you out here—I just want to clarify--what do you mean by “would the search engines pull in this domain†!!!!!
Basically meaning would the SE recognize or locate that sub-domain using those key phrases. I have been told that domains and sub domains with the key phrase in them (especially hyphenated) will rank faster. my site tennoutdoorsman ranks high under "tennessee Outdoors" I was just hoping to be able to use sub domains to increase the keyword/phrase options to a wider range. I guess my bottom line question is, would the use of sub domains be effective for this?
I actually wanted to test that out myself- so this is how it went down!! For my main website--- www. homewealthpackagescam.com – I made two connecting blogs- Blog.homewealthpackagescam.com,,,,,,, hpsblog.homewealthpackagescam.com I did promote all three domains—but I was focusing mostly on my main site( homewealthpackagescam.com) (70% backlinking to the main sites,, and remaining focusing on the other two blogs with subdomains) After three weeks—these are the results I got!!! Google- homewealthpackagescam.com—page 1 - position 5 hpsblog.homewealthpackagescam.com- page 3- position 4 Yahoo- hpsblog.homewealthpackagescam.com- page2- position 1 (homewealthpackagescam.com was not even in the top ten pages) So – I guess this shows that search engines do take subdomians into consideration!! you should consider the fact that search engines keeps changing their algorithm and selection paterns regularly - that’s why its best to indulge in different types of backlinking methods- instead of just one!! Hope this helps!!!
Something else to consider is the part after the domain. Most of the time you have the option to name all the rest of the pages of your site away from your home page. Consider putting keywords here for additional results. If you have a lot of pages this could boost your keywork density dramatically and it will all be restated in your sitemap.
