Does the order of the keyword phrase have a significant effect on search engine rankings. For example, if I am optimizing my site for "Furniture Las Vegas" and someone types in the search bar "Las Vegas Furniture", is my optimization completely irrelevant or should I still rank about the same regardless of the order?
Based on my experience, phrase order does matter - especially if you have a new site or a site Google doesnt like that much. In other words, if you are targeting red widgets and Google has you down as a red widget site, then you will probably come up high for red widgets, widget red, red widgeting and so on. If your site hasn't got much Google authority in that field, then it seems to me much harder to rank. You probably will still rank for, say, widgets red, but not that well.
I don't think Keyword Phrase order really matters, If someone able to give precise information about this. Please share the information.
Just to be clear - we're talking about word order within a search phrase. Yes it does matter (for phrases of more than 2 words). A search for "word1 word2 word3" is treated differently to "word2 word1 word3", and rankings will be different (as is easily shown if you compare search results for such different phrases). In my experience this is generally true for the way Google handles queries, and doesn't depend on the site or the competitiveness of the terms. The reason is that word proximity is an important factor in rankings, i.e. if you search for "word1 word2", you not only need to have both words on your page (and titles, anchor text etc) but you'll do better if the words appear close together. Where the search phrase has more 2 words, then you have different proximity relations between the words (3 pairs of relationships). A search for "word1 word2 word3" will rank sites better if they have word1/word2 close together, and word2/word3 close together - but having word1/word3 close together would not be so important. The same words in different order "word2 word1 word3" would mean having word1/word3 close together would now be important. So you'll get different rankings for sites depending on the word order. Phrase order is only really important in the titles of your pages. For example... Fishing Rods | Fish, moneys, cats and dogs Lots of Fishing supply's | Rods, monkeys, cats and dogs Let's say you wanted to rank high for "Fishing Rods" - the first would definatally have an edge over the second.
