Is this thing completely inaccurate or what? I see sites ranking for a search term that supposdly gets a lot of thousands of hits per month yet their alexa rank and sometimes other traffic stats are shit? Whats the deal with this?
Overture isn't the perfect tool to search for keywords, neither is wordtracker. This has already been discussed here : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=146814 And read this article : http://www.wordtracker.com/articles/index.php/academy/demystifying_the_radically_different_keyword_results_provided_by_overture_a/
(virtually) no site that has a particularly noteworthy alexa rating gets it from JUST one keyword / keyphrase.
remember that alexa's data is not necessarily a great reference for ranking. It's not terrible, but it relies on alexa's toolbar to be installed on one's machine, or to be using IE and searching alexa.com. so, right off the bat you're limiting the amount of data that is potentially out there (and possibly grabbed by Yahoo!), thus skewing results.
