    Hi all,

I am just about to launch a new site. I have bought a keyword rich domain name and the brand name both in .com

    What one should I use?

I don't really want to use them both as the keyword in very competive, so want all links pointing to one site rather than splitting the links between 2 sites.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    easy: KEYWORDS

    * unless you have a LARGE budget to promote a BRAND.

    * just because a "product/domain" is brandable doesn't mean it's going to be. :)

    good luck.

    Thanks for the advice DomainLoot.

The thing is, we have a great logo and were thinking about branding with free t-shirts, pens and that sort of thing.

    I'm still undecided!

Has anyone got any ideas how I could use them both? Maybe the brand name for the promotional material and the keyword name for SEO?

    Any other suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks.

I would suggest you to go with the brand name(if you want to make a niche for yourself). Further it would depend on various factors i.e. nature of product, TA, involvement etc.
If your target market is very specific/or geografically concentrated or the site is content related(but u have a product)the KW may work but I would always go for brand name(as their potential extends both online and off line)

    please suggest your views

I would go for a Brandname Domain.

Using keyword rich domain would help you too... but it is an Outdated marketing technique that still works at times...

The new ways direct towards brand name... its a good and a brave thing to do... with good future advantages..

Use the keyword domain to help get your site establised quicker. Then once your positioned well you could "re-brand" the site and switch to the brand domain.

I would suggest keyword rich domain for the obvious benefit from the SEO point of view, brand building would take up a lot of time and money for a new site.

well you can use brand name domain for your main site...
and use your keyword domain name/names to support that main site...
so you'll get more one way links pointing to your brand name domain, this will help you making your brand name domain as authority site.
