Hey everyone, new to the forum, but had a question regarding keywords. Here's the deal, I want to advertise something called a CHIP Mortgage or CHIP Reverse Mortgage... this is very different from a generic "mortgage". After building a hyper-targeted list of keywords around these terms (using exact match, broad match, phrase match), I used Google's Ad Preview Tool to see what the competition looks like in the areas I'm targeting. As one would expect some ads show up for generic "mortgages" - not my problem really, but unfortunately the opposite is also true. My question is this: Is there any type of modifier / negative keyword phrase that would eliminate any mortgage related search from prompting my ad to show? If the search query has the words Chip or Reverse with the word mortgage I want my ad to show, otherwise not. Short of eliminating any broad match terms from my keyword lists (which would severely limit traffic) what options do I have? I may be answering my own question here, but would using +chip +reverse +mortgage as a keyword accomplish this? Thanks in advance for your help.
there is no any such kind of automatic mechanism...but still you can reach it buy using both the keywords Chip , Reverse as different keywords...then it is possible..
That's the thing, don't you want to limit your traffic and PPC costs for keywords that you don't want? You are either going for folks that know what a CHIP is, or you want to educate folks on what a chip is. If it is the former, then it is good to limit the amount of money that you are spending and therefore the bad traffic you are getting, but if it is the latter you want to keep it wide open for anyone who is in the market for a mortgage. Instead of tweaking your keywords, maybe increase your bid and the geographical reach of your ads (if you have any other delimiters set).
