Hello, I got a simple question.

Lets say I'm trying to rank for the long tail keyword "Best Football Websites Reviews". Would my efforts also make the site rank good for keywords within my long tail keyword such as "Best Football Websites", "Football Website Reviews", and "Football websites"?

That has nothing do to with my questions. I want to know if you make a site targeting the keyword phrase "Best Football Websites" if it will also increase your rank for shorter keywords phrases like "Football Websites".

Your answer is yes. There are e-books that answer this in a LOT of detail. In short, yes, but how you setup your site is VERY important and your friend is right about the "Dash" - . It DOES make a big deal. Your site and keywords should be small to big as you ad more pages. What I mean is the larger phrases do will do better as a 2nd tier or 3rd tier sub page. Your first page should focus on a couple 2-3 keywords and have 9-10 relevant keywords.

If you rank for the long tail keyword you may rank better for some phrase match from that. But that does not guarantee the ranking. I would suggest aim for little more competitive keywords and let the SE work on ranking the long tail keywords.
