Im looking at building a site that is a plural of the key word, however it isn't gramatically correct, for example: keyword = signage, uses signages Would this help in the SEO fight?
yes it would be helpful no need to worry, but after that you also concentrate on other process. but its an important part of seo so it will helpful...
Google seems to put a lot of weight into the keyword being the URL search term. I've seen sites ranking in top 5 positions on competitive keywords for 'keyword inURL' and those sites having either PR0 or PR1 and literally no backlinks.
I agree that it definitely helps with SEO if you have the keyword in your url. Here is a great article that shows where to put your keywords: http://seo-blog.newsunseo.com/search-engine-optimization/seo-tips-placing-keywords-in-website/119
this is not always the case. Here is an example: The URL http://www.pacmanflash.com does not even appear in the first 100 listings with the keyword Pacman Flash. Can anyone explain that?
yes definitely keyword in url is very very help to us for optimization. google give first important to url rather than title, description and keywords.
I think it used to be a lot more important than it is now - having said that it is a good idea to write the keywords into any sub page urls
