I've got a site where it sells two separate types of things, and two separate pages for each. So the titles of each page is as follows... The index page - "Widget Coozies | Widget Machines by Hoochie Dork" The Coozie Page - "Widget Coozies" The Machines page - "Widget Machines" Recently, I've taken a serious hit (only on google) for the search term Widget Coozies, while ranking for other search terms seem to be ok. I'm wondering if having the term Widget Coozies in the title on two separate pages is tripping a filter at G. Thoughts?
Well, many sites have title like specific title - main title or main title - specific title and there's no problem with that. You could get filter if every page title was the same , but in case it changes there's nothing to worry about.
I really do not think that would hurt you at all. Overall the title of the page is different. I am guessing Widget Machine is a less competitive term than Widget Coozies and that is why you are ranking easily for Widget Machine. Ahhh damn Widgets! (Sorry pet pev when someone use the term "widget")
