Domain name is always going to carry a little weight, even if you consider people linking to your site, just using the URL name directly. Without even considering this, keywords in the domain name have some significance

Matt Cutts (content via seo.com) : "keywords in the domain carry weight with users, and for this reason, Google also gives some weight to a keyword in the URL and/or domain name"

I would say it has some value. So if you can use keywords in your domain use them.
But dont get carried away and forget other types of SEO.

Don't forget alternative words. A domain like "F0rums" will also be translated to "Forums" by google.

The value of this translation is using smart subdomains, as example (not real): "Insurance forums" will be translated to "http://insurance.f0rums.com".

I won't reveal here the keywords for some of my forums on this domain that are paying higher on adsense but the good part is that we can add as many of them with strong keyword on the sub domain as needed and without any costs.

Without much work this idea is already bringing me a lot of visitors and about 18 USD per day.

Keyword in domain make ranking so much easier. Always consider it even if it is not a .com .org or .net.

Now you can get google search engine result pages benefits, if you have your main keyword in your domain...

but this is not necessary..but if you don't use keyword in domain, then you have to build backlinks more..then only you will come in first page of google...

I know many will disagree, but I'd be careful with keywords in the URL. In my experience, yes this will rank you higher, but many users see websites like "WhereToBuyCheapLaptops.com" and run for the hills screaming "spam."

at some point thats true .... in most cases with keyword domain use no more than two keywrds in the domain like this Oahu-Handyman.com that dont look like spam and it targets my niche .... be smart be keen to development in research ... domains car the richness of the entire site wide profile in general optimization.

Keyword matched domain name can rank on the first search result page if the keyword has low competition. You can use keyword tool such as Keyword Samurai to find a low competition keyword that no one has registered as domain. Hyphens in the domain name does not affect the ranking.
