I recently purchased a site, and I am having some problems figuring out which keywords to target. Site: http://www.outbid4less.com The concept is that we offer brand new name brand items for sale on the site. Users bid on the items, and they pay a bid fee for each bid they make, usually about $5 per bid. The winner is the person who has the highest unique bid. Each item has a bid price, usually around $20, so the winner may have bid $19.63 or something. So, they end up paying that amount for the item. The previous owner focused on "cheap ipods". Doing an overture search at search-keywords.info, I get 11,757 results, and I do pretty well with that term, though I don't show up in the top 10 on either google or yahoo. I just can't figure out any other keywords to focus on. I would love some help and suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Any keyword phrase that includes the word "auction" should do well for you, provided it's not so general that there are millions of competitors. After looking at your site, it looks as if you're selling quite a wide variety of products, in numerous categories. Combining the words "cheap", "auction", and other generic words with the names of the products you're selling could provide you with an almost unlimited number of quality, targeted keywords. HTH, Sam
Mate, Stop stuffing around and just use these three keywords: ebay, auction, bid, win Enough said. Hope it goes well for you. Col
