if your targeted keyword is: used cars, usedcars.com is batter, but if you have batter seo on the used-cars.com you will get higher serp's ranking.

Avoid hyphens, because they make your site look like it's not professional. That simple. Take a look at any of the top 10 results in any significant search and you won't find them. If you insist on using them, then never more than one.

Bottom line is it will make so little difference to your SEO ranking to have hyphenated keywords vs one keyword and a relevant related word, that it is not worth doing.

I don't think hyphen's have a big impact when it comes to SEO but I do suggest for a more professional look to go without the hyphen

Hyphens don't have negative effect on SEO.

However, they should not be used more than once in the domain name. This is because most spammy sites have multiple hyphens, and your site would be considered spammy even if it is not!

Also, it is difficult for your readers to remember the site name. UserCar.com is easier to remember than Used-Car.com!

Hyphens in the domain have little or no impact on SEO buy the are difficult to remember for users and look less professional.

I think that, hyphens do not have any impact on SEO however, a domain name without it will be preferable. People can easily remember and type domain names without hyphens.
