Hi! Let me start by saying I’m pretty new in the whole website making scene but I’m willing to do the work required to make it a success. I launched my first website last week and I focused mostly on getting some content. Now I think it’s time to start getting some traffic on my website. I currently get about 10-15 unique hits on my site per day. I think I may not be using keywords in the right way since my website doesn’t show up when I type in my keyword ( website making). I know there are a lot of other SEO techniques that I have not utilized but I read keyword usage is one of the most important ones to start with. Can someone check my website and see if I can ever rank good in Google with the current condition of my website? My website/blog is: websitemaking101.com If it’s not allowed to post links sorry and I will remove it ASAP!
Keyword usage is one of the least effective SEO methods today. Your site looks good - what you need are some good backlinks. And lots of them. For the keyword "website making," you're competing with gigantic websites like Weebly, Wix, Yola, etc. I'd suggest setting your sights on some less competitive keywords to get the ball rolling.
Hi Mafbak, Your site looks great! I would suggest a few changes though. Your slogan "Make a professional website in steps." Would sound better if it was something like "Simple steps to creating a professional website" Also some of your images don't line up properly so they should be re-sized to fit correctly. These are just minor tweaks that can be done. As for improving your rankings is important to have rank-able keywords within your articles and inserted correctly.(read this for more info) Let me know if you need help obtaining the best keywords. Nice theme and good content. Good start so far. Backlinking is the next step. Get backlinks at high PR sites. You can do this manually, buy backlinks (expensive on the long run), use bots, but don't spam or get your own high PR sites and link back. Plus you should register for google authorship, because google really likes it.
