as long as you don't overstuff but the keyword is present, the most you should use it is once every 100 words or so. more importantly though, page titles and product names do much more for seo.
Hi there, there is a keyword density tool on the internet => just type in keyword density into google and you will find it! Be sure to not go over a density of 5 %, i personally prefer 2-3%! That means that every 80-100 word you should have your main keyword in there.... but more important are your lsi keyword... just type in you main keyword into google and on the left hand side you will see related searched... the first keywords popping up are your lsi keywords! Like intuziast I would like keyword density to be with in 2-5 %. More than that I think it is nothing but keyword stuffing.

i would say its quite important when it comes to optimising a landing page for a particular keyword... I usually keep my blogs to around 4-7%.. but I had once increased an eccomerce blog to 11% as there was too much competition.. the competitor site had around 9% keyword density.. when it comes to ecommerce site, you have a lot of scope to play with content.. its gets a lil tough when comes to general stuff...
