At one time I read somewhere that 9% percent is a good keyword density. I never use percentage in anyting and it has been a long time since school so I am likely doing this wrong but to make it easy I to experimented on this going for 10 percent density for 500 words and came up of course with 50 times for each keyword to be repeated. That can't be right. Please help. I do not want to go to some keyword density tester online and find out I am Wong after I spent the money to get stuff written. Your method for calculating Keyword Density is right. But there isn't an optimal density. How can there be? Every case is different. A page with one word on it has a KD of 100% - that isn't to that page's detriment. A page with a KD of 0.0001% will rank #1 if it is the only page on the internet that refers to the targetted phrase. Forget keyword density and just write good content that appeals to your site's visitors.

KW in the first sentence of the paragraph. 3. KW in the H1 and H2 titles. 4. KW at the end of the article. This is based on a article page consisting of 400 words.
