How many times should you repeat a keyword in say every 100 words?I heard repeating a keyword too many times can actually have a bad affect (spamming).

too much isnt good. i would limit it to 5%.
write the content naturally first, then modify it little bit for SEO.

Some say it's 2-3%. Synonyms and related words are also important. By related I meant If you are talking about a car then probably in your article it should have words like speed/model/mileage for example.

It should be GREATER than 2% but don't overdo it and make it obvious to your visitors what you're trying to accomplish.

Not more than 15%. Anything below 15% will most likely be considered as spam.

It should be naturally with your sentences, don't purposely or to force in a sentence.

As mentioned above, 2 -4 % will be the safe one. However use the keywords appropriately ( i.e ) where it is needed :)

Remember you also need to take into accounts other text on your page such as blogroll, navigation, arbitrary text etc to get the true value of keyword density for a particular page, which no body really knows the answer btw

    Hi,

In my suggestion, Keyword Density should be 2-4%.

Keyword density (SEO) (%) is the percentage of times a keyword or key phrase appears on a web page in comparison with the total number of words on the page. I think Yes, it is right that, Using a keyword more than that could be considered search spam.

Bottom line is that there has no limitations on the ideal keyword density is up to 5% on the site, particularly because search engines often change their algorithms. So I also agree with the above member over here that 3-5% density is the appropriate one.Almost all search engines are liberal up to 5% density.

The best keyword density should be 2 to 4%, more than 4% than your content would be spam by Google.

3 to 4% is safe for search engine to rank well. But always use main keyword at title.
