If you're optimizing your onpage content then you know you need to have a certain density of keywords and that you can't have too much density. Check your competitors that are ranking well for a keyterm to check their onpage, then check your competing page to see how the density of words and phrases compares. www.checkkeyworddensity.com
I would do a google search for your target phrase and look at the top 2 results with the keyword tool mentioned above and try to get into that range. but remember it has to make sense. google has said time and again that they will penalize websites building a site just for search results, it needs to be useful to the user as well.
Yes, before going to as a competitor for our relevant keyword. First we should optimize the on page content and density of keywords. After that analyze your competitors site, and how much they used keyword density and what is the page rank. http://keywordsearchpros.com/
Another Good tool to check keyword density is webjectives keyword tool at webjectives website I use this tool all the time, it gives you keyword density for a specific keyword... your keyword density should be between 10-14% aggregate...
It seems good, but it shows only Word, Count, Density. My suggestion is not only these three, if Possible to set in your tool - keyword search volume, keyword competition, Volume of Trends, Local search volume and monthly search, if you provide these all features in your tool, your tool will be get good position in world wide like (adwords.google).
actually you can measure keyword density by dividing your total no of words in a page by the appears your particular word. Keyword density should be 4 to 5 % i think
As far as my knowledge is concerned, I feel that you should use 3 - 4 keywords in about 400 - 500 word webpage in your website. Besides this, it is also important to look for appropriate use of keywords in the text concerned so it does not look out of the way or useless. you can also take some help from web copywriters to get a good and informative copy of content with right amount of keywords or you can do it yourself.
I think 7 to 10% seems like quite a high percentage. That would mean that every sentence is littered with the keyword. I used to generate keyword lists and write my posts based on 1 keyword everyday. Then I found that it made blogging a serious chore. So i ditched that method. I try to keep my keyword to around 5 for a 500 word article. There are certain articles where I do not even have a keyword in mind. I basically just write to entertain my readers.
Please guys!!! It's topics like these that make people hate SEO. Keyword density has NOTHING to do with ranking position. Write natural content and don't worry about percentages
