    Hi,

    What does everyone build on keyword density ?
    I have always used
    google = 6%
    msn = 9%
    yahoo = 9%

    Was recently chatting to a seo copywriter and when i said i need the text to be keyword rich by 7-9% he almost fell off his chair and told me i should be aiming for 3-4% max ???

    I do ok in google but i could do better ... but in the past 2 months i have totally dropped from yahoo and also msn?

    Ditch the copywriter. Keyword density is a myth. Good copy should be focused on the reader (with keywords in mind), not the other way around.

    - Do your keyword research first
    - write how your visitors can benefit from your product.
    - read the text again and place your keywords when suitable.
    - reread the text and remove keywords to make the text readable, so it won't be seen it was optimized for the search engines.

    Keyword density is an awful thing to keep in mind when writing content. Make sure you're writing to your reader first, then skim the content as if you were a search engine.

    Write the content.. Code the code.. When you're done tweak in your content a little.. Never think of SEO first.. Think of it as a plugin :D.
