I could find what I was looking for in search. I found a site that has at least 1,000 words in a list almost the same color as his background. It's obvious he is going for density. I asked about getting banned for doing it and he told me it's been like that for a year. So I looked at my own site's density and it was weak to say the least. For the keyword i wanted it was only like 1.5% on the homepage. I am trying to get this up and have it at 8% right now. What is too much though?
I personally dont worry about keyword density. I just right articles for the visitors and not search engines.
I write also, but links, articles, and other things i do just don't seem to be doing the trick. I must be missing something so this is where I am at right now. I know I am digging deep here...
The truth is I really don't measure the density of my content as long as I have inserted the keywords in a nice way that readers can understand the content and was helpful for the readers.
Read somewhere that around 5% is good enough. Keyword stuffing makes your content human unreadable. Of course there could be sites where big "G" didn't figured out that they are keyword stuffed. But it's only a matter of time before such sites will be penalised. Maybe guy you talk about uses another techniques to keep his site relatively high. But tell me how high he was? Top ten? Keywords were those of high competition level?
Keyword density should be between 5-8% not more than this otherwise it'll come under keyword stuffing(spamming)....
Key word density is important when you optimize internal pages for long key phrase. For heavy keywords the density is not so important - backlinks will do the job. It is very easy to make an example of perfect page (will never banned) with 100% keyword density.
