Keyword density vs no of times keyword used?

Hi would appreciate any input on the following questions

I have recently made my sales page longer (about 6000 words) and have included more targeted keywords (over 100 of them). I heve mentioned each keyword from 5 to 15 times depending on the keyword. However I am unsure of how google rewards 'keywords'

Is how many times you mention a keyword on a page relevant or is only the keyword density taken into consideration? OR is it both?

To elaborate even though I have mentioned some of my targeted keywords 15times, within 6000 words that is only a 0.25% keyword density, which from what I have read about keyword density is not enough?

I have read that you should aim for 2-5%?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

PS also how long does it take google to update their search engines to include your new content as I have not seen any improvements in traffic after three day?

Yes it should be about 4% but remember that includes any that are in your h1 tags etc.
Try and put them in some link anchor text on the page as well.

I've read 4-9%. Nobody really knows for sure - just make sure you use the keyword an ample amount of times but don't keep repeating it, use variations of the keyword. It has to sound natural, or search engines will catch on to what you're trying to do.

I still say the most important thing is the anchor text in backlinks pointing back to your site. I've tested it out many times - and have gotten non-keyword URLs to rank for certain keywords.

Thanks for responses. So basically what you are both saying is that it is not how many times you mention a keyword as such, but the keyword density that is important?

(on top of getting links with the keyword in like you say)

keyword density = how many times a keyword is repeated, they're synonyms.
