Keyword density percentage

What percentage of keyword density that should be present in the 500 - 600 words article and how to optimize it.i need suggestion.

I really think that 8% is a little high...to be on the safe side - 5% max from what I've been told.

For google, the keyword density should be maximum 5%. For better business, content should have quality. Keyword density will make the content tasteless and also google will penalize the site. Google says, "Write for the users/visitors not for the search engine."
