Keyword Density — 8% is excellent and doesn’t seem spammy, if you have a 500 word article, then 40 of those words should have variances of the search term you are targeting, if this seems excessive, lower the keyword density down to 5% and you will only need to add 25 variances/instances of your keyword. And that’s just a start… (Keyword prominence is big, but not worth a discussion).

I wouldn't pay much attention to keyword density.
You'd be in a much better position if you use LSI - not
only using your primary keyword in your content but
    also including theme-related keywords.

Keyword density is easy to understand and easy to calculate which is why the myth that it is important in SEO still exists. Search engines have moved on since the last centaury and as anyone in IR research will say, keyword density is unimportant. For example Dr Garcia, "Many search engine marketers (SEOs/SEMs) waste their time fine tuning keyword density values with Keyword Density Analyzer tools" here.

That search engines use LSI is another myth. If you know what it is then you know that it isn't being used. For example, The LSI Myth.

I work more on relevant terms (using a hierarchy system) in front of density on my sites. Then I revert back to my keyword(s) for density. Seems to work.

Off-topic: Jay, I think you need a new avatar lol

I think that "the magic keyword density" as a SEO factor is overrated. I've studied keyword density on a number of sites that rank high for the given keyword and the percentage of the density differs very much. I found sites with 8% or 9% but 17% as well and they all rank high.

98% of Google Adsense Publishers rely on CPC as the major criteria for finding a High Paying Keyword

or industry. But in the end get disappointed. Obviously, No one is going to pay $15 per click if not

even a single Advertiser is willing to bid for that particular keyword?

You will be Stunned to see what the Real Picture of Keywords look like?

There are many Keywords on Google Adwords system with high CPC but with no profitability to target.

And you could get befooled by many Online Keyword Selection Tools.

The Factors which you have to take into consideration are:

    - Niche keywords
    - Traffic building keywords
    - High CTR keywords
    - Heavily Advertised keywords
    - Most searched keywords
    - Most clicked keywords

And you have to find a right mix of all these factors to find a perfect Keyword.
