Hello From what I can see a sites that have their target keywords in their domain name rank higher than those who don't, despite each having quality content. Is this correct? Eg. mytargetkeywords.com V site.com Cheers!
There is no question that domain names are very important. This is one reason the domain name market is so hot.
This is often the case, but is not an absolute rule. A generic domain can still outrank a keyword rich domain if they have better backlinks. Rankings are primarily determined by quality of backlinks and their relevance to the keyword. A keyword rich domain often seems to have more relevant backlinks since even their links that just say www.domain.com still have their keywords in it. It is just a small boost though. So don't worry if you can't find a domain that includes your target keywords. That just means you may need more links that use your target keyword as link anchor text.
is good for startup (i love it) and also good for SE, user normally click those keyword domain Most of my site is Geo + Keyword (use keyword tracker or Adword), almost instant traffic after site start
Sometimes - yes. Always - no. Go to google and do a search for webmaster forum. The first 2 results - v7n and digitalpoint do not have "webmaster" or "forum" anywhere in their domainname. Its not until the 4th result do I see a site with the word "webmaster" in it. Having a keyword in a domain name is nice. But its not required.
If you have a choice you should pick the domain with your keywords in it. The reason is because any natural links you get will often set the anchor text as a version of your domain name. So in your example of mytargetkeywords.com people who give you a link will often put "My Target Keywords" as the anchor text. This will seriously boost you in the SERPs for "My Target Keywords". If you set it to domain.com then you're wasting a lot link juice on anchor text where you may not care to rank.
you may use your main keyword as your domain name and folder names but don't overuse your main keyword you can replace it with synonyms or maybe minor keywords, because search engine might treats it as keyword stuffing.
That is correct. Keywords in domains have a good impact on search engine rankings. You should take a minute to read over my blog post on getting a great domain name.
Remember that domain-info such as expire data also is important. Not know by so many - but it's a fact.
