Keyword Density falls in Black Hat SEO Technique. Write articles naturally without keyword stuffing. Use the keywords as many times as required. Don't overdo it. Write for users not for search engines.

I think it doesn't matter the point is to not overdo it, I mean keep your keyword density less than 6%, and make it as natural as possible, 3 - 4% is ok, the most importsnt on page factor is title

From what I know, the optimal keyword density for a webpage is about 5%. But this is not a rule. I would say that the best way to go about it is to do what feels natural. I think that if your articles flow naturally for the reader then you shouldn't worry much about keyword density. Try not to stuff your content with keywords that will make it seem unnatural.

It becomes stuffing when your blog is so full of keywords that it begins to not make any sense to the normal reader. Like others have said, write for your readers and the natural density will follow.

If you have exact keyword density on ALL your pages it will look funny as well. Focusing specifically on google liking the site is less important than the visitors response. If people dig the page they will tell others which in turn ends up with backlinks and all of a sudden google loving you whether you are too dense or light on the keywords.

You can get away with lower keyword density if the keyword is very, very rare. Otherwise, stick to 3% to 7% keyword density.

    Hello friend,
well keyword density is important phase of on page SEO.We cant ignore it by saying that its a black hate techniques.keyword density Is highly depended on domain age and popularity of your website on search engine.well if your site has domain age of more than 4 years and has PR 3-4 than you can make your keyword density at 20 to 23% even.but make your content fresh and it must look genuine.you should not use your keyword madly in your content.what Google says is content should be fresh and most user friendly to visitor.i have seen so many sites and optimized sites with this type of high keyword density but they sites have big domain age and popularity + fresh content.so Google founds that this sites are genuine and its already serving the best Quality of information At visitors.
So,If your site is newly developed than you may start with 3% to 5% of keyword density.you can increase it in future when your site gets popularity in search engine but use keyword stuffing in the genuine way and content must be fresh content and user friendly.Google says that content is a king.so now you can understand that Google gives so much importance to content.Keyword stuffing can be great technique of on page SEO but only when it used genuinely. If you want more information you may refer matt cutts videos and blogs on keyword density.Thank you.
    Have a nice day.
