Thats right, me and a few friends own and run a forum ( See Sig ). We hope to be big like DP some day, but this was a big accomplishment for us! Check out google and type in the keyword ( Computer Forum ) into google.

Thanks to DP for the knowledge and to my buds for sticking with me in this process. We all learned a lot and I hope to someday develop a SEO course on how we did it using DP! Could be a New York times best seller

Get 3,500 links, 100+ .edu links and get 3 .govs, your site would get rather high rankings.

imarketinggure: TLD's have no effect.
a .gov or .edu isn't going to automatically be a better link than a .net .com or .info.

 

The .edus and .gov connected to the page all have high PRs. I base most things on the PR of the pages of each site as well as the page links. TLDs have no effect, but age and PR do...Use SEOBook's tool

This is very nice for some very competitive keywords.

However, as a business you will have to figure out a "business proposition" for your site, that will make it unique and appealing to your targeted audience. As you are probably well aware, you have lots of competition. Can you answer the question: "What will keep visitors coming back?". If you can -then you have a growth proposition that is well worth investing time and money.

We get anywhere from 120-300 people a day from this one term.

Its a forum and peopl,e seem to come back, why I am not sure at this point.

 

you need so many backlinks with "Computer Forum" anchor text .

 

Seems to be ranked #7 but it's still a good achievement

Does "internet marketing" send much traffic? I'm trying to figure out whether to go for "make money online" "internet marketing" or "online marketing". they all seem to have about the same search volumes

 

That traffic figure is quite low for someone who ranks so high for the "computer forum" keyword.
You also need to look how you rank on other search engines.

 

Maybe not many people search for computer forum?

 

Internet marketing sends more than online marketing (I have a site ranking top 10 for that also), though I'd probably take a stab that make money online sends the most. If it's the right kind of traffic is another question entirely

 

Right, I'm going to go for all 3 then.

 

Computer forum gets like 5000 searches a day. But I have other sites that rank high in other terms. But this forum is sorta my goal. I want to own a DP myself and this is a start

But I will be marketing some sites for bigger terms soon.

 

Where are you getting 5000 a day from?
