Hi, I am planning on starting a few websites which will be blogs about subjects I enjoy talking about and hope to make money from. I have ideas about keywords I want to target but am not sure what techniques I can use to research keyword competitiveness I obviously don't want to go in competing for a keyword which will be near impossible to rank for. So what techniques do you reccomend for studying key word competitiveness? Is there any articles or programs you guys could recommend which would help me? Thanks in advance!
you can use google external keyword tool research your keywords. this is a free tool which does a decent job. just search google and you will find it
Is the google adwords keyword tool what you are referring to? This is a decent tool but I question the reliability and accuracy of it and would like to know of any other methods of research? For example the competitiveness says low and high which isn't a lot of information.
Keyword research is one of the most important thing when you start a site, it can prevent you from waisting months on useless SEO. You should try some software if you are new to this or hire someone. You can also read and learn from the internet, but experience is the most important thing.
I believe Keyword Samurai is used by some to analyze competitors. I have never used the site so cannot comment on its effectiveness.
You can always use keyword tool in adwords and always choose low and medium competition this will get your site up by good chance
