Just want a list of ideas for getting good SERP with Bass Fishing as key words. I have good SERP for florida bass lakes, but volume/traffic not there. Without starting a whole new website, what ideas do you all have for getting better SERP or page ranking for Bass fishing as keywords? Please give me specific detail as I am new to SEO...Thanks
bass fishing has a searches results but high competitive keywords... i suggest you have to link exchange related to bass fishing... i suggest you just check your competitors link partners page and then link exchange with their linkpartners too... regards!
Remember that each page within your website will rank seperately from the others. You could also create an additional page or subfolder about bass fishing and optimize for those words and then work on getting a few good backlinks to that inner page. -- Just an idea
Thanks Nystul, Kentucky and toin! I just bought another domain http://www.floridabassfishing.us (.com and others gone). I'm creating tips and techniques on this site. I started it but have loads of content yet to place. I will put links there as well to http://www.floridabasslakes.com. At least I'm on page 1 of Google for florida bass lakes and it's probably because of my domain name (also have some links, good content, lots of lake maps, etc.). Any advice on optimizing the new site is greatly appreciated...Thanks again, P.S.- Got my signature
Excellent choice getting that second domain with the keywords "bass fishing" in it. "Bass fishing" is a pretty competitive keyword (732 searches daily, per Overture). You might use some related but varying anchor text in your directory submissions and other link building. Fortunately, "bass fishing" is in one of your domain names, so be sure to get it in your title and also distributed nicely throughout your text. I wouldn't be surprised with that combination to see you rise to Google's front page in the process of time. For varied anchor text, try "largemouth bass fishing". It gets 22 searches daily, but that's nothing to sneeze at. And the keywords "largemouth bass" within that 3-word phrase get over 100 daily searches. And if you get "largemouth bass fishing" into your title and text and on some inbound links, I think you can quickly score very well for "largemouth bass fishing". Another variation would be "largemouth bass fishing in Florida lakes". That gets several keyword combinations in there. Go for it, and best wishes. P.S. Check the avatar. That's a king salmon I caught in the other corner of the USA from you (Alaska).
Jim, you've got some excellent points! I'm new to SEO and this whole world of developing traffic, good SERP. Only been at it for a couple of weeks. Learned a lot though and hopefully can apply what I've learned. I used a keyword hit indicator at http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/#results and shows volume of 19,000 monthly for florida bass fishing. Not really sure if this is this one phrase or the combination of all phrases using these keywords. The volume for florida bass lakes is only 196, even though I'm on the 1st page of Google for these keywords. That's why I chose to get another domain. I don't want to stray too far from what I like (Bass fishing) and where I think I have the most experience. Nice Fish Jim! Too bad the bass don't get that big!
Try also the keyword suggestion tool here at Digital Point — http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/ Sarasota, eh? Man, I envy you. I spent many a happy day there at my parents' condo on Lido Beach. Sarasota is an awesome city. And, as you surely know, the fishing is unreal!
Thanks Jim! Although I live close to saltwater, I always head inland for about 1.5 hour drive and fish the bass lakes. I fish local and club tournaments as well as for fun! Thanks for your help!
