Hi all I would like to ask you what is the real value for Google,Yahoo and MSN when we are dealing with keyword based domain name choices when opening a new website. I was surprised to see for example that everybody at SEO Championship had a big fight over domain names that are more or less relevant to the keywords of the competition - this is just an example. What I am trying to understand is actually the real value that you get in the SERPs, or on a scale from 1 to 100 (if that possible) - how much value do I have against my keyword competitors if I have the domain name that contains the exact keywords in order. Example for better understanding: keyword1 keyword2 keyword3 I have domain name keyword1keyword2keyword3.com Will that give me a possibly crucial benefit in the long run? Thank you for your time.
Im on your side, but it seems that google bots track content rather that putting that much weight on the domain name itself. It gets way over my head here so I will sit back and wait for a pro to answer that one. as far as keyword in domain name, actual people that see your site (not bots) will remember good keyword domain names and return to your site with ease, thats just good ol traffic there.
Maybe it is better to take domains that have this structure: keyword1-keyword2-keyword3.com instead of keyword1keyword2keyword3.com After you posted I quickly looked for something on Google and it seems that Google is highlighting the search terms in the domains that are composed of keywords separated by commas. Could this be an element of bonus in SERPs? Regards
MSN focuses a lot on keyword domain but not Google. Although Google does considers this into their SERP, its effect is unnoticeable compared to backlinks.
Thank you for your answer. I was looking for a degree of importance of keyword based domain name choices, I know content and links are the king and queen of SERPs but I just wanted to make sure how much importance does the domain name have to the Big G.
