Keyword assistance needed.

    Hey,

    I'm in need of some pretty serious assistance. :p

    I tested my website earlier, to see how it faired - and this is the screenshot:

    I ranked pretty good overall (I have images on the main page that could make it run a bit slower at this moment), but, for my keyword optimization.. yikes.

    What have I done wrong? What can I do to improve it? Help is appreciated!

    What are the primary (top tier) keywords you are optimizing for? Also, what keywords are showing up in your site's server and/or Google Analytics logs?

    I know somebody who's really into anime (and searches for it all the time). I'll ask what keywords he uses and then run them against my tools to see what I can come up with, okay?

    Your most important keywords will likely be people searching for specific shows. So you should spend a lot of time building deep links to each page. It would be easy enough to find blog/forum posts about each show that you could contribute to (without spamming of course). You will probably need to build up a fair amount of links to compete with existing sites. I recommend doing some thorough keyword research for all of your target shows. Then gradually market each of those based on where you see the best ranking potential.

    Just a few tips that I would follow in your shoes.

    Don't try to compete for single word keywords for traffic.

    "Kenshin Episode 3" is a lot less fought over, and likely will get you more traffic than "anime"
